But on the other hand if you are having a very small wedding with only very close friends and family and people know this then you maybe able to get away with have other small parties that have more people then the ones coming to the wedding. Thank your mom for thinking of you, then gently explain to her that you do not want her friends to feel at all like they are only there to bring you a gift and you would feel far more comfortable with having the shower be populated with future wedding guests only.
