What should I wear to a bridal shower?

I do not like wearing skirts or dresses, but I want something different than my everyday attire (black pants, nice shirt). Would white sateen crop pants and a nice blouse be okay for the shower? Would crop pants (mid-calf) be suitable for mid-April?
No. You seriously need to wear a cocktail dress.

That sounds chic, and unless you’re in a very cold climate you should be fine in crop pants in April. You could also add a smart jacket, and your shoes should be dressy - heels are good if you wear them.
The bride will want all her friends to be comfortable as well as looking their best, so you can all have a wonderful day together.
that sounds like a cute outfit, cute and comfortable because your the host and you will be moving around a lot.
No need to wear a dress! If you’re not comfortable for the evening then you won’t have a good time. Plus it’s not the brides day YET… it’s just her shower! She’s not going to care if you don’t wear a dress… She’ll just be happy that your helping to host a wonderful party for her!
sooo I would say dress up the pants! How about classic waitress look…. go with some nice black slacks… a cute pair of black or red pumps… and a nice crisp white shirt… maybe add a red necklace so you don’t actually look like a waitress…
