It all depends really. If its a good day for everyone, a good time, not a long drive, people live locally, and had enough notice then most will probably attend.
If a lot of your guests work during the weekends or live far away the numbers start going down.

In my experience, the vast majority of people you will invite will attend the shower. If you are inviting people from far out of town, they may not attend, but most people in town will attend. If you sent out 30 invitations, for instance, I would count on 25 people attending.

Really, that depends on the family. In some families, you'll invite 100 people and 30 will come. It's just common practice or the family isn't really all that close(and just invited for social graces).

In other families, you might invite 50 people and EVERYONE attends. That family might be really close to each other or whatever.

So, it depends. I think you need to look at the relationships of the guests. Does the bride have 4 sisters, 7 aunts and 15 female first cousins? If she does and they all get along, you're already looking at 26 people right there.

Look at who the bride is really close to vs. who they are inviting just to be polite and socially correct. Chances are you can count on the really close people of the bride to be there (unless something important comes up). For the other people, I would say about 50% -75% of the people you invited JUST to be socially correct, show up.

My general rule of thumb is to invite as many as you want to come and 75% of them will come with out rsvping
