If the shower is strictly housewares, you should get something that the couple can use in their home, even if it isn't on their registry. Cute kitchen gadgets, picture frames, a lovely serving bowl or a vase would all make great gifts. And a gift card (to her favorite store or a place like Target or Crate and Barrel) is always appropriate. I put in a pretty picture frame, bride and groom teddy bears, book for a happy marriage, a pretty silver tray, a beautiful vase, and matching trinket box, a Mr. and Mrs. Scented Candle, and a beautiful heart diamond necklace. I wrapped it up nicely, tied a bow around it, and attached two love birds to it. :) It doesn't have to be from her Bridal Registry to be special.
