What kind of cake would go good with this kind of bridal shower?

My mom is throwing a shower for me and my fiance and we are having a couple’s shower. It is going to be a luau themed/cookout couple shower. She was wondering what kind of cake would go with this. Do you have any suggestions? What is a good bridal shower cake? Should she go with something luau themed, or bridal shower themed or a simple cake with a photo of both of us on it?

i think a simple cake with your guys’s picture would be nice. a luau already has a lot of things going on..but anyways congratulations!
I like the pineapple idea - I thought of something with pineapples or coconuts too. Pina colada? Or if you go with a normal cake, just make sure it has bright, bold colors in exotic patterns or icing used to make exotic flowers (like orchids or birds of paradise). I feel like not going along with the luau theme for the cake is rather awkward. Cakes tend to be centerpieces.

I, personally, LOVE this idea! I think you should have a colorful cake that will be a main attraction. I mean, if you don’t do this stuff for your wedding parties, when else will you get the chance? Here is an adorable, whimsical one that I like:
