What do you give a bride at a bridal shower?

bridal
angie asked:

I have never attended a bridal shower before and I just recently was invited to my friends’. I have been invited to several but always was unable to attend. What sort of gifts do you normally give? Is a bridal shower the same as the lingerie party?

no no no no, its not the same. give the bride items she’ll be able to use for her new home with her husband. for example, a blender or stuff like that.

You would normally want to shop from her gift registry. If there isn’t one listed, ask the party hostess if and where she is registered.
If she’s not registered anywhere, its up to you to be creative! If you know her very well and know the people going (and she won’t be embarassed), then you can get her lingerie. Otherwise, how about a gift card?

Gifts for the home are tradiionally given at the Bridal Shower. The original purpose was to help the bride with the items she’d need in her new home with her husband.

Everyone watches the Bride (and sometimes bride and groom) open the gifts, so this is one time to not get a gift card. Do get a gift receipt, in case she needs to return duplicates. I’ve seen some lingerie given, usually by the Bride’s Mother.

the bride should be registered somewhere and yes in most cases it’s all the same. otherwise, it would specify….”home and garden party” for the bride.

    Honey Do Whistle
A giant oversized whistle is a perfect gag-gift for the Bride! Be sure to include instructions that say “Guaranteed to get his attention!” and “Good for obedience training, too!”

Adult toys (ladies you know i’m right on this one?) may be a good idea for those nights when he doesnt come home?
