I hope you are planing on driving this horse, not riding it. Anyway, you measure from the corner of the mouth up over the poll to the other corner of the mouth

measure it. if you cannot find a bridle to fit it’s head, you can get them specially made for a price of course. I hope that you are not planning on riding this pony. It’s far too small for an adult or even an older child. You may hurt it. If you are talking about a halter, they sell halters for miniature horses in most tack stores, or online.

Let’s say pony (Shetland) was 39″. The length of head is usually 17″. That is from the poll to the nostril. I would get a bridle that was not quite that length adjusted to the last hole. Then can adjust it up to the appropriate length with the holes given that is.

Usually in the pet stores (pet smart, state line tack, Dover saddlery) I go into, it is separated in pony, horse and large/x-large (draft). Same with bridals. Request some assistance. Usually those in charge of that particular area knows a little bit about it as well.

Sometimes what you can do is buy one and try it out. Keep the receipt and if it doesn’t fit, exchange it. Just make sure you ask the return policy first. I done that a few times. Can’t expect tack to fit with each purchase. Every horse is different.

Measure from lower cheek to lower cheek from one side all the way across the poll to the other side for thes type bits. Make sure to have adjustment buckles for comfort of the mouth.
