Does the Bride buy her bridesmaids a gift for putting on the bridal shower?

bridal
billy from WI asked:

I know the bride& groom buys a gift for everyone in the wedding party and give it to them at the res. dinner. I was just wondering if i buy the bridesmaids who put the bridal shower together and present their thank you gift to them at the shower or what? or do i even get them a gift for that. Thanks!!

No, this isn’t something that is in etiquette books or anything-but if you want to take them all to lunch or something, I’m sure they would appreciate it! If you want to do something, just do it!

No you don’t give them a gift then but you should certainly send them handwritten thank you notes.

The gift is given just before the wedding…..that’s for being there for you during the whole wedding thing.

I didn’t do that…this is just part of their job duties :o)

the only gift that is given out is usually at the rehearsal dinner as a general thank you for putting up with my bridezilla self and sticking around to be a part of the wedding…

    enjoy your day

You can put something extra in the gifts for at the rehearsal as a way to say thank you with a small thank you card for the shower

In some areas hostess gifts are given, in my area they are not. If you decide to do this, I would make a few suggestions, present the gifts in private and be sure to accompany the gift with a heartfelt note of thanks for their time and love in planning the party for you. No gift will replace a truly greatful thank you note, so that is a must.

Nope no gift, but let them how much you appreciate it.

Not usually. It is your time. You would give them something for your wedding but that is enough. The bridal shower is something that they do for you!

The Bride generally buys the Bridesmaids gifts for being Bridesmaids because they buy their own dress, shoes, etc. Plus the wedding and shower gift. So it’s basically a rule of thumb for the Bride to give the Bridesmaids a gift and usually the Grooms give a gift to the grooms as well.

No! You should just make their thank you card a bit more special! Maybe stand up in front of your guests and let them know you think you’re bridesmaids did a wonderful job and give them around of applause. You are to buy them a gift and give it to them at the rehearsal dinner. Until then they are called bridesmaids for a reason!!! Have fun, good luck, and don’t stress!!

My sister/MOH and my aunt threw my bridal shower. I took a small plant/potted flower and a little basket full of small goodies and gave it to both..as a “hostess gift” It was cute.
